Why junto?

In 1727, Benjamin Franklin founded The Junto (also known as the Leather Apron Club) in Philadelphia. Its purpose was to debate “questions of morals, politics and natural philosophy” and exchange knowledge and experience of business. Originally a group of 12 friends who decided to gather for mutual improvement, all joined from diverse backgrounds: academics, businessmen, craftspeople, clerks and bartenders. They believed true wisdom and improvement came from the free exchange of experience and knowledge pursued “without fondness for dispute or desire of victory.”
We seek to employ this spirit in everything we do at Junto Advisors.
